Matthew brings over 17 years of professional drumming experience, performing with renowned artists and orchestras at major events like Glastonbury and touring extensively across North America and Europe. His versatile background spans a variety of genres, including Musical Theatre, Pop, Orchestral, and Jazz, allowing him to adapt to each student’s interests and goals.
With a teaching approach that combines personalised guidance, patience, and a focus on fun, Matthew makes sure that every lesson is engaging and enjoyable. In addition to drums, he also teaches piano and shares his expertise as a music producer, specialising in Logic Pro.
RATES:
£30 for 30 minutes + 50% studio fee (if applicable)
£40 for 45 minutes + 50% studio fee (if applicable)
£50/h + 50% studio fee (if applicable)

SPECIALITIES: Jazz drumming, reading drum music, drum grades (if requested), and challenging drummers with co-ordination & independence work

ABOUT THE LESSON
If you book a lesson with me you will receive 1-1 personalised guidance and we will discuss what you'd like to get out of the lessons. Whether it's just for fun or you're really looking to level up as a professional musician, we will outline your long term goals together and monitor them as we go, accompanied with encouragement and a lot of patience.
I cover everything from Trinity drum grades, deep diving into musical styles (such as Jazz, Latin, Country, Musical Theatre) & technique, playing along to your favourite songs, and working on nailing the setlist for your next gig. I also provide knowledge and skills on recording processes & practises as well as ways of addressing the mental & physical sides of drumming.
