JERWOOD ARTS 1:1 FUND

Open To: Early-career practitioners working in literature, music, performing, visual and contemporary arts

Location: UK

About: Jerwood Arts have launched a new fund offering awards of £2,000 to support 35 pairings of independent early-career artists, curators and producers from across disciplines to connect, develop their practice and generate new ideas.

The 1:1 FUND offers awards for two early-career practitioners working in literature, music, performing, visual and contemporary arts to strengthen existing or start new collaborations after the isolating impact of Covid-19. It will benefit 70-80 individuals in total working together collaboratively.

KEYCHANGE - TALENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Open To: Women and gender minority Artists and Innovators

Location: Canada, Estonia, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the UK

About: Each year, Keychange recruits women and gender minority Artists and Innovators to take part in a year-long programme of development.

The focus of this programme is:

  1. To help you to get to the next stage in your career and realise your potential

  2. To bring about meaningful change across the music industry and help you to overcome the barriers you face because of your gender.

  3. To connect you to opportunities created by an international network of individuals, organisations and audiences

If you are selected to be part of the Keychange participant programme, you will join an exceptional network of women and gender minority artists and innovators.

Applications are open from 5th July 2021 and close on 4th October 2021. If you are selected your participation will start in January 2022 and will launch with a full-network meetup in London on 16th - 18th February 2022.

Applications are open to Artists and Innovators in Canada, Estonia, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the UK. Keychange is mostly delivered in English and you should be able to communicate in English to get the most out of your participation.

8 participants will be Canadian and then there will be 6 participants from each of our European country partners.

Great Escape Festival - Apply To Play

About: Artist registration for The Great Escape 2022 is now officially open in partnership with Family In Music. Whether you are a band, a singer-songwriter, a rapper, DJ, collective or duo, it doesn’t matter, we want to hear from you.

The Great Escape welcomes artists from every genre across the globe to apply for a chance to play at the world’s most renowned festival for breaking new talent. You will be performing with the beautiful seaside backdrop of Brighton, where 450+ acts will be filling over 35 venues, making 11th-14th May 2022 one hell of a weekend and a great opportunity to meet key music industry figures who come to TGE looking for the next big thing.

Previous artists who have performed at The Great Escape include Adele, Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, HAIM, AJ Tracey, Vampire Weekend, Mura Masa, Skepta, Slaves, Charli XCX, Wolf Alice, Little Simz, Aitch, Foals, Loyle Carner, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Bon Iver, Lewis Capaldi and many more!

Making Music - Adopt A Music Creator

Deadline: 30th September 2021 (music creators) | 1st October 2021 (groups)

Open To: Music creators, choirs, bands, orchestras and ensembles

Location: UK

About: The Adopt a Music Creator project (formerly Adopt a Composer) celebrates the range and breadth of music being made by music makers and creators in all its forms.

The project pairs Making Music members - leisure-time choirs, bands, orchestras and ensembles - with a music creator for up to a year leading up to a premiere, a recording and a possible radio broadcast.

Adopt a Music Creator is a creative journey that lasts up to a year. Music creators have the opportunity to get to know performing groups and write a piece especially for them to premiere, while groups have the chance to contribute to the creation of a new work by some of the UK’s most promising music creators. Each pairing is assigned an experienced mentor to support and guide the music creator and group, and help the creative process run smoothly.
