Driving?
DRIVING:
If you’re driving to our Camden music studios, use paid public parking spaces on Hampshire Street and in the surrounding area. There’s usually plenty of room, but please be aware of parking restrictions to avoid fines. Note that we don’t have a dedicated car park.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
Your Camden studios are conveniently located for anyone in North London, right in the middle of Kentish Town, Camden Road, Cally Road, and Tufnell Park.
The studios are a 15-minute walk from Kentish Town station, connected by the Northern Line and National Rail. For a quick trip to central London after your rehearsal, it’s just a 20-minute tube journey to Oxford Circus. Buses 29, 253, N29, N235, and N279 also stop nearby on Brecknock Road, which is a five-minute walk from Pirate.

Why Live Acts Love Camden
Best For: Bands
The live music scene in the area has made Pirate Camden our main base for bands and singer-songwriters in London. But here’s what’s going on inside the studios that keeps live acts coming back.
More Rehearsal Studios
We’ve recently added four more rehearsal studios to Pirate Camden, making it much easier for bands to find the studio they want during busy times.
Upgraded Rehearsal Equipment
You’ll also find slightly different equipment at Pirate Camden. Highlights include the Natal Zenith Drum Kit, which drummers love; a pair of Marshall Origin 50 Guitar Amps; an Ampeg Rocket Bass 210 500W Amp for tone aficionados; and an Allen & Heath Zedi-10FX Mixer. This higher end setup provides a fuller sound, closer to an on-stage feel.

Important Information
New Guidelines at Pirate Camden
- You need to register the names of all your guests when you make your booking – you’ll be prompted to do this when you make your next booking. Security will be checking everyone’s ID (including yours) at the entrance and if someone hasn’t been registered or doesn’t have ID on them, they won’t be allowed into the building.
- Under 18's are not permitted onsite after 9pm.
- Camden’s opening hours are now 9am-11pm. When you finish your session, please leave the area as quietly and quickly as you can. Any noise may be filmed by neighbours and used against Pirate.
- Wine and Spirits are banned at our Camden location. Each customer can bring in no more than four cans of beer, cider or low alcohol premixed drink such as G&T. No glass allowed, cans only.
- Anyone caught with drugs in the studios will be reported directly to the police and removed from the building.
We really appreciate everyone doing their bit to help keep Pirate Camden safe for everyone. We don’t expect these measures to be in place forever, but right now, it’s really important that you respect our neighbours.

What to Do in Camden
The Best Food, Coffee, and Music Venues in the Area
Sitting in the sweet spot between Kentish Town, Camden Road, Cally Road, and Tufnell Park, our Camden studios have easy access to some of North London’s greatest hits. While there's always a lot going on, here are our favourite spots right by the studios.
Food
Our local, The Lord Stanley, serves up one of the best pub pizzas in London. Other great food options in the area include the sandwich joint Kossofs and the Ethiopian restaurant Queen of Sheba, both in Kentish Town. Or head towards Camden Lock for amazing street food.
Coffee
There’s no shortage of amazing independent coffee shops in Camden. Some of the best are Coffee Jar, Leyas, Lantana, Melrose and Morgan, and The Flour Station—honestly, throw a rock, and you’ll hit one! Most of these spots also serve up delicious bakes.
Music
KOKO, Roundhouse, and Jazz Cafe—some of the best live music venues in London—are just down the road from Pirate Camden. And don’t overlook the small but precious gems: The Camden Assembly, The Black Heart, and The Underworld, to name just a few.
